TWYE now allows you keep track of where your eating through Foursquare!
First connect your Twitter account to Foursquare.
From Foursquare.com, go to your user settings page and follow the simple instructions to connect your Twitter account.
Be sure to restart your Foursquare app if your Foursquare app is open while connecting your Twitter.
Now when you post from Foursquare, check the "Share with Twitter" box and enter a message.
To communicate with TWYE, simply add "#twye" in your message along with your food and optional calorie content. When you do this, TWYE will add the location/restaurant you posted from to your diary entry!
Browsing the "Locations" page will allow you to see other locations fellow TWYE users have eaten at as well as your entries from that location.
How do I post through Twitter?
Make sure you register and connect your Twitter account first. When you do, Tweetwhatyoueat will establish a friendship between your Twitter account and TWYE's 'Twitter account. This will allow you to post private direct messages to your food diary. You can post to TWYE one of two ways:
Privately - send a direct message to TWYE with the foods you’ve eaten like this, 'd twye yogurt cup'
Publicaly - include the #twye hashtag in a Twitter message like this, '
burger, fries, coke #twye
'
Tweetwhatyoueat regulary retrieves direct messages and searches for messages with the TWYE hashtag and parses them into your food diary. This can take up to two minutes from the time you post.
Add photos to your Twitter entries!
Add food photos to your diary entries! TWYE supports parsing out photos from Twitpic (preferred), Tweetphoto and Yfrog. Here's how to add a photo to your tweets.
You'll need a mobile phone with a camera and a Twitter application installed to proceed.
Open up the Twitter application on your phone
Prepare your diary entry, like this: "d twye eggs and bacon"
Click the photo icon to either take a picture, or choose a photo from your device library. Note: photos taken in landscape mode will look better, i.e. your iPhone turned to the side
The photo link will be appended to the tweet you send. If you're using Twitter and using Twitpic to upload a photo, you'd want the entry to look like this: "d twye eggs and bacon http://twitpic.com/yr238"
Send the direct message to TWYE. TWYE will parse out the link to the photo, and you'll see a photo icon next to the entry in your diary.
