@Elle_bird eating less than 1200calories a day is very bad for your body, and you will not lose weight you will loose water, so fat and cellulite actually increases when you start to eat more calories again. 1500 is advisable. about 5 hours ago
to mainstain your weight and with a fairly healthy lifestyle ie atleast some walking light excercise daily and not too high in saturdated fat for diet, then 2000 is the guideline. to loose weight you should be looking at dropping off a couple of hundred, if not adding excercise to diet then you can aim for around 1500-1600 and lose weight steadily. if your adding excercise in too you can still loose at the same rate easily on 1800 as long as you chose your food right ie low fat. x about 5 hours ago
5 desert spoons ( normal big spoons, not a tablespoon and not a little teaspoon!)is about 25g porridge, which is only 90calories! add water and it stays 90cals! obviously add milk and you have to add the milk calories, but 100ml of skimmed milk is only 36cals so even with that its a total of 125cals! i usually have either 50g in one go with water for breakfast, or spit into 2 portions of 25g one before gym session one after. add fruit lie chopped strawberries or blueberries for breakfast, or raisins, chopped apricots and nuts etc are lovely on it too. about 5 hours ago
i hear you.. i have a similar dilema. im off to south africa for 2 and a half weeks on a once in a lifetime adventure trip traveling backpacking etc around.. then my boyfriend has booked us a mini break away the day after i get back because we will have missed each other so much, so thats another 4 days of no excerise. so 3 and a half weeks almost of no gym. very excited about the trip but im dreading putting weight on. i rely on excercise heavily to keep my weight down to the size i am ( its silly i do like 2hours or more of cardio a day atleast 5-6 times a week!) because i naturally like my food and have a big appetite. so ive been trying to reduce my cals very slightly these coming weeks, and also reducde the amount of excericse i do as of next week, so my body doesnt get a complete cold turkey affect. im also really worried about the types of food ill get out there, as i rely on being very in control of my cals/fat levels in main meals, so i can eat every couple of hours to satsify my appetite. i figured if i tr to lose a couple of pounds in next 3 weeks before i go (well its almost 2 weeks til i go now!) then when i put some weight on whoich i inevitably will atleast itll be some of the weight i lost! making these next few weeks leading up seem very daunting tho, lowering my cals which i HATE doing AND reducing my excericse :-( not a happy bunny but i just keep thinking, ths is a once in a lifetime trip. its only eight. i can lose it. x 13 days ago
@jackiedpepper this info in very accurate. basically if you do anything remotely moving in the day id not advise you go under 1500cals a day, but you can easily lose weight on diet of 1800 with a bit of excercise or atleast making effort to do stars instead of lifts uring the day that sort of thing. BUt its about the amount of fat within this calorie content that important, if you wanna lose weight try to eat low fat within this 1800 maximum for best results. x 13 days ago
@Tabby6992 me either.... we need to suggest it to TWYE as theyre asking for ideas atm xxx 14 days ago
wish there was somehow to do the diet buddy thing, me and you seem to have reeeally similar cravings and eating habits/patterns. would be so helpful! x 15 days ago
i snakc bad at nigh, i simply cannot go to bed without going via the kitchen. so i now cheat myself by aiming for a couple of hundred fewer calories a day than i planned, so that when i do snack before bed, ive still had what i was allowing myself. this stops me feeling out of control by seing that ive gone over and ending up binging on my enitre cupboard supplies! :-) x 15 days ago
museli is not 'fatty'. too many people mistake FAT for CALORIES. someone who eats only 1500cals a day but gets those calories from high saturated fat foods is going to put on more weight that someone who eats 2000-2500cals of very low fat foods!!! we need calories, calories are not bad things. calories are a measure for energy. we need energy, before we even exciercise we need 1200-1500cals a day to lie in a bed and for our body to keep us alive. if your out and about all day you also need extra calories to do these low activities. thats without any real gym sessions or workout stuff in there!! dont be afriad of calories. they are your friend. its SATURATED FAT tha is your enemy! and ofcourse its important that you dont overdo the GOOD fats ( found in nuts, avocado, olive oil, etc) if your trying to loose alot of weight, but if trying to lose a bit you need to keep these good fats in. x 17 days ago
i tweat but i guestimate more as usually involves rough counts as not in control of the meals and snacks like in the week. i still tweet even through the bad day off days, i even tweet my binges. i find it helps. x 17 days ago
blah just had to rant sorry. mum was here to stay, dinner out every night, not good... cos even though i pick healthy choices and refuse dessert, mum makes me have some of hers which always sets the sweet tooth off and i end up eating sooo much! :-( and now its the weekend and my mind cant process starting a healthy day on a saturday or a sunday, it thinks its allowed bad stuff like fizzy percy pig sweets from M&S when you went in for fruit!!! lol grrrr i thought i could jsut had a couple as a treat as no choc, but no, i had 15. ontop of dessert. and 2nds and thirds of sweet desserty (if low cal.fat stuff alteast) afterwards. thank god i burn alot in the gym! beween 2500-3000cals nearly every day this week :-( and lunch out tomorrow! monday monday monday hurry up and hit me with your guilt stick pleeeease quickly! 17 days ago
@sugarkate me too. but seem to jsut be finding ltos of other sweet stuff to eat instead like skinny icecream, sugarfree caramels and toffees, marshmallows, skinny candy sweets etc! so as of yet only had one time where i smelt a chocolate brownie at the table across from me and nearly cried i wanted to taste one so much! ;-) 17 days ago
have you ever considered that you might not be eating enough? how many calories do you consume a day? i cant see your dairy on here ( no idea why but i only seem to be ale to see peoples entries if theyve recently tweeted it on homepage nut just on their name on here?) maybe your low cal but high fat without realising it? or have in intolerance? all these are examples of why people who think theyre being good or deiting dont lose weight... and are you actually over weight? because it might jsut be that your not able to lose more because your at the right weight for your age and height and without physically startivng yourslf over a long period of time ( this is not a suggestion lol!!!!!!!!) you wont lose more because your bosy needs what you currently have in weight to function x 17 days ago
@missstatistic i used to be a model ( fitness, swimwear & lingerie mostly) so i know how to keep in shape yes... BUT that doesnt mean i dont find it just as tough as everyone else! i am in good shape but if i dont keep track what i eat, i soon gain weight and even though im now re trained as a therapist, i stil lcare alot about how my figure looks. that photo was taken last yr and am currently back down to that exact shape atm. but i fluctuate monthly! (weakness for sweet stuff/ used to suffer from bulemio and over eating issues) as for the ideas, i did suggest while bk to the other person in charge, about having an extra section along with food, calories, date etc... saying WHY u ate it. because i find it really useful to look at how many times im eating out of boredom, sadness, social stuff or cos im actually hungry etc. 17 days ago
chat roooooooom!!!!!!! and emotional sections to blogs wo WHY u ate what u ate. then u can see the percentages of when u eat out of social stuff, hunger, boredom or other reasons etc. x 18 days ago
if you think that eating one will be enough and you will be able to stop at that. my advice is dont, becuase personally for me with my chocolate cravings, i tend to have a bar at weekend usually friday night in as a 'treat' but then i get the love for it and end up eating chocolate bar after bar all weekend til monday morning guilt hits in. :-( 21 days ago
if you like your energy drinks why dont you swtich to the suagr free versions? i used to drink red bull cos id get up at 5am to go for a run then the gym when it opened to do some more work out, as started uni at 9 so had to leave the house at like 7am! so by lunchtime i was megggggga knackered usually. but then i swapped to diet red bull, only like 7cals in it instead of hundreds in the full sugar version. at first the taste is diff and wierd, but like converting to any diet thing, i had the same for taste of diet coke first, eventually u get used to it and you prefer it! 21 days ago
i loved meat but gave it up about 8 months ago, and havent caved once. my tip, QUORN!!!!! the mince, the chicekn, the goujons, the sausages. you forget about meat but always got good protein source to add to the potatos rice veg etc so never feel your meal is incomplete. though i do love my fish too... i couldnt live without fish or seafood i eat alot now instead of meat. again tuna, swordfish those sorts of fish are good meat substitutes to make kebabs with etc... xx and best thing is quorn products and fish are so much healthier, lower fat and lower cal than meat. 21 days ago
Hey all...hope you all had yummy pancakes today ( well atleast those of you who are doing lent tomorrow til easter giving up something foodwise that you love!!) i had my final exam for my masters today, so it was really fun to celebrate with my last glass of alcohol and smother chocolate all over my pancakes to celebrate knowing from tomorrow theyre both banned til easter! have to say my savoury pancakes were pretty damn good too, and low cal! i must make pancakes for diner in future what an easy diet food that i never paid attention to in the past! my pancakes were delish and were only 70cals each plus some fillings. ( i cant say my dessert ones were as low cal i but hey, its ok to indulge sometimes right!) good luck to all those starting lent tomorrow, i hope we can do it! no chocolate or choc flavoured things is going to be sooooo hard!! so apologies now for future rants on here when im getting stressed by it all! hehe xxx 21 days ago
