@messismile I love recipe books and have many. The South Beach Diet books have some good recipes. Also, some old standbys that are meatless/low fat are Laurel's kitchen and anything by Molly Katzen. Epicurious.com has some great, recipes... Oh, and hungrygirl.com has some good ideas for recipes.

@Zhen Have you tried Sobe zero water to satiate the sweet tooth. When I get a sweet tooth I reach for one of those. I like the acai flavor.

The personal trainer gig is really working for me! Had a breakthrough this weekend. Suddenly I am sweating profusely early in the workout. The weight seems to be coming off, now. I think my metabolism must be more revved up. Doing lots of weight training, cardio and fun stuff with trainer that needs no equipment...like crab walking, skipping like a kid... boxing and kicking, too. Had the worst eating day in a long time, yesterday. Got back with the program, today.

Just hired a personal trainer for 2 days a week. I am committed to doing cardio at least 3 days per week on my own. Feel really good training so much. Have about 50 pounds to go!

8 days minus 4 pounds. I have not been hungry and I have not excercised. So, when I add in exercise, woo hoo! I was really overeating and badly eating before. I am back on track to a healthier me!
It is a start!

@fillychick96 Yes, I would rather have a slice of toasty baguette with olive oil or butter than
a handful of nuts or carrots or olives. I just need to retrain my thinking. I have gotten off track in the last 5 years and the weight has crept up on me. I did some analysis and if I do 30-45 minutes of cardio 6 days a week and cut out 250 calories a day, in a year (theoretically) I will reach my goal weight. Doable, don't you think? Of course, I want to get to my goal weight sooner than that! I definately have some craving and blood sugar issues, so like you, fruit and simple carbs are a challenge for me. My new mantra is, "Is the choice I am about to make going to make me happier in the long run or just happier for the moment and which do I prefer?" Good luck to you, too!

Just started using twye, yesterday. Tweeting everything that I eat really helps me see more clearly what I am really eating. I have blown the equivalent to a small meal's worth of calories in carbs, today. I really should only eat about 3-400 calories more and I have only had lunch. I am sure this new accountability is going to help me have insight into my problem areas and help me meet my goals. I am psyched!
