If you do not eat enough then you go into starvation mode and end up ill and putting on weight. Find out what the calories you should be eating for you height, weight and age and deduct 500 from this. As your weight reduces, recalculate your calories which will be lower and deduct 500. Continue until you reach your goal weight. For most people 1000 is not enough.

I booked a holiday for 4 weeks time. I am off the vino and doing weight watchers until then. My current goal is to loose 12lbs. If I get 8lb down by then I will be happy and still look fab in a bikini. As it’s a sports holiday it will not all be going back on.

That sounds like a very healthy weight loss plan. It could take you 10 weeks to lose the weight but at the end of it you will look toned, healthy and slimmer. Remember to drink plenty of water.

Brown rice - it has the same calories but does not leave you feeling hungry after an hour. It takes much longer to digest and it healthier for you. It has a rich nutty taste. I have heard that Basmati rice is the best white rice to eat due to the way it is digested.

I am not a nutritionist but I have spent a lot of time studying diet, food and the various nutritional components. The average calorie intake a women needs is 2000 calories a day. If you are over your required weight and want to diet this should be reduced to 1500 minimum. This will depend on you’re your height and age. There are web pages and doctors who will tell you what weight you should be. If you do not eat enough you will starve yourself, end up putting on weight and may cause long term illness affects.
Some of the entries I have seen on this site are worrying. There is one proper way to lose weight, sensible eating at regular intervals and get some exercise.

totally agree. I find it amazing to see people say they are trying to eat less than 1000 calories a day that could be so damaging to their body and wellbeing.

At 5’8 and 126lbs you are under weight. You should check with a doctor to see if you should diet. I am 5’10 and my ideal weight is 168lb

I make my own jam but microwaving frozen berries and adding sweetener, it great low in cals and gives you one of your five a day.

You need to eat minimum 1500 Cals a day on average to stay healthy depending on your build. Eat small meals regularly and watch the saturated fats. Eat the cals you need and tone up with exercise. If you exercise a lot top up on extra healthy food. Look into healthy eating advise sites. Not eating enough can be worse than eating too much.
