By the game, I mean the gym. God help me, haha! Basically, having finished uni for the year and having had all of my plans for the next six months fall out from underneath me, I've decided to use this time to get fit and healthy and back in control of my body. Does anyone know any good food/diet plans for veggies (i like making life difficult, it would seem)?
I've also been considering looking for a weight losing/healthy eating 'buddy' - does anyone know how successful this is?
Bye! xxx

@callorees Good luck with your new 'game' plan - it sounds like a good one. Having a food or fitness buddy is a great idea, it let's you have someone to hold you accountable and to encourage you when you're feeling less athletic and more couch potato.

For veggie recipes, try http://www.vegetariantimes.com/ - You can ignore the fact it's for vegetarians and treat it as good source for vegetable recipes.

Good luck!

@xxHunyJxx and @KatieTunn chocolate tea? sounds yummy! also the meringue thing is such a good tip (i just read your other thread about it!) ...dunno why i was convinced it was so high in calories - probably because it tastes nice! hahah
meeh i guess sunbeds are out of the question, although i knew that deep down inside me anyway haha!
I may just have to paint myself orange and resign myself to my white, white body. :P xxxx

i went to my doctor with a similar problem, and she basically said i need to eat things to sustain blood sugar - for example porridge is brilliant, brown bread, pulses, seeds, oatcakes (yum!) etc, as opposed to eating white bread and white pasta etc. I found it really helped, and as it keeps you fuller it does in fact aid weight loss, because youre not getting the drop in blood sugar that causes cravings.
Dont know if that's any use to you...but maybe!

babes, a size eight at 5 foot eight is a perfectly sized body, give yourself a break :) but, ive been using cla which helps to convert fat into muscle...which is basically all you could need given your body size, so i guess theres an option! orrr do some toning excercises - youll get a better tummy, legs, arms, etc without getting too thin :) good luck! xxx

@xxHunyJxx hahaha, i enjoyed that.
yup, water and veg it is - i didn't really expect any other reply :P
and i loveeeee peanut butter but thought it was pretty bad for you :/ - i could be wrong! :)
i know, sunbeds are the devil...i dont think im really going to do it, i just keep considering it 'cause you cant really fake tan at the beach - it just ends up chlorined away!
and how are you doing :) what brings you to the site? haha xxx

i tried some for a little while, yeah you only get (disgusting i know) orange 'oil explosions' if you eat fatty, crap foods USUALLY, but it can occur anyway (says my mum...who's a nurse practioner, and thinks they're evil...haha!). didn't work any better than simplistic diet and excercise for me really, i wouldn't advise them to be worth the money you'd need to pay.
Good luck :) xxx

1. It's a month and a half before I go on my holidays, any excercise/food tips that will make a difference to my figure/skin/whatever come BEACHWEAR HELLLL. Just some general conversation's always good :)
2. I am white to the point of being pallid. Has anyone had/got any sunbed experience they could share? I'm extremely unsure about the process and not even sure if it will help an extremely white girl who burns, then just becomes even whiter.
3. I am back. No questions here, just a HELLO and nice to see so many tweaters online ;)

1. Drinking lots of water and eating lots of veg seems to be what most people advise. Snacking seems to be most people's downfall, personally I eat fruit if I'm hungry between meals. Also, peanut butter on rice cakes is yummy :-)

2. Sunbeds do soooo much damage to your skin. I have no experience of them, but fake tan works great if you apply it well :-)

3. Hello :-)

Hello calorees!
1. As HunyJ said, peanut butter is good but I like it on apple slices instead (though it isn't on the naughtiness stakes so be sparing with it). My saviours are loads of different teas (including chocolate!) and meringues when I just can't stop myself from having something sweet (they feel much more indulgent than they are).
2. I use sunbeds but I have naturally darker skin. With pale skin they're really quite dangerous and you 're likely to just end up pink. Do try fake tan (the light daily moisturiser ones are easiest), do it a couple of hours before you hit the beach then it wont wash away :)

@callorees Yeah that's the problem with fake tan! Like KatieTunn said, the daily moisturiser ones are good though. I use Johnson's :-)

i totally agree with like, every single thing you just wrote :) and yes i agree that when you scrub and shave and tan and look after yourself you are definetely more aware of it, and the gym is brilliant cause it makes you feel happy AND makes you thinner ;). i was doing brilliantly healthy food & calorie wise, then i had a bad day, ate crap and then ate it for a week. ¬_¬ ah well, back on the wagon! :P no point in getting down hearted about it, just have to keep going.
hope youre doing better now as well :) silly life getting in the way of our slim selves!!! xxxxxxxxx

i do the same!
i also think if you eat things like takeaways, youre hungrier the next day. i had one last week and its totally ruined me.
i think i have a bit of a carb addiction actually...hah!
good luck :)
OH a tip, if you eat fruit, you can eat tons and tons more than you can cereals etc so even if you eat a bucket load youre never really going to surpass like, 200 cals. :)

eugh i've had such an awful down week (food and life wise!)! ate over 2000 cals today and am completely and utterly annoyed with myself.
it's so hard staying motivated when you keep looking in the mirror and not feeling like you're looking better...even though other people appear to be noticing changes.
AH!
also have an allergic reaction to something on my neck. just thought i'd slide that in. HAHAH.
how's everyones tweating going? :) xxxx

Had a generally APPALLING week life and food-wise too, they are often linked unfortunately! Are you eating healthy foods or just cutting back on your calorie intake? Because when I eat healthy food, even if there is no physical change yet, I feel better and more comfortable in my body - and after even just a day or two my tummy flattens and I feel less bloated. So eat stuff that makes you feel good (avoiding processed crap when possible) and treat yourself to long showers or something. I find if you make yourself aware of your body, by like, massaging it with your soap or doing sport or whatever, you become more aware of what it needs and more "in tune" with it... if that makes sense. When I am stuffing myself I am generally forgetting about my body in a way and neglecting it/its needs. Can't help you for the allergic reaction haha... good luck x

@callorees lol love your philosophy too, a minor setback should not bring our gorgeous selves down!

dont i know that feeling =p hahah. lots and lots of water always works on mine! there's this old french woman who claims shes never used any skincare and only splashes her face with water 12 times a day and her skin is gorgeous. but yeah, ive found that if you splash your face with water and leave allll the water to sink in it makes your skin look rejuvinated :)

those fitflops/the reebok version of the same sort of thing shoes and trainers?
i was wondering if they were really worth raving about! x
about 2 years ago
I got fitflops last summer, didn't think much of them when just pottering around but wore them when out shopping for a whole day (searching for an outfit for a wedding) and that evening I could really feel it in the back of my thighs, I recommend them. I'm going to get the boot version for next winter.

So unbelievably disappointed in myself for eating too much today, it's soul-destroying. hahah. Also disappointed in myself for having too much alcohol, too much coffee, and too many carbs all in one horrible mixture. that CANNOT be good for me.
think i need to attempt to have at least a week off alcohol, drink a lot more tea/water and try and cleanse myself a little bit. the life of a student ey? *rolls eyes*
ALSO. completely giving up chocolate/sweets for lent. bain of my life. BAINNNN with a capital everything.

chin up and don't let it get you down. had a binge myself today, was absolutely devestated. but i guess you just have to try again and don't let it get you down :) i think i'm giving up chocolate for lent...either that or like "bad carbs" aka white bread and things like that. pft. who knows!? =p feel better

omg TOTALLY know the feeling. There's just something about carbs that makes you feel so much better...and i have absolutely NO idea what it is. euck. you're not alone babe! unfortunately i have no suggestions, but am hoping some other people do!
all i know is that the more you resist, the easier it becomes to resist. but then as soon as you eat it again the craving's straight back. Good Luck! xxxxx
