@Homeflower Hi, yes, up your protein and lower your carbs until the cravings and hunger go. It works.

@btlu Hello, yep I am on the new points but put on weight eating fruit, so none for me. Also bread has the same effect and if I don't eat either I lose steadily....

I did this for many years, even from the age of a child.
Then I started regular Homeopathic treatment and it stopped.
I haven't eaten in the night now for about 16 years.

Carbs really are the things that do the damage, especially trying to lose weight and if you don't do loads of exercise, when you need them.
As everyone is an individual you need to find which carbs do the damage for you.
For me it is pasta and bread and I have to go very easy on fruit... Good Luck

I use organic wholemeal without the sugar in. It is not as yummy as the others but I feel I don't go mad with it and eat it with celery.

I have got to the point where a jar lasts three weeks!!!

I am still losing weight.

Hi Cat, I would say the way to avoid snacking and especially night time snacking is to up your protein in your last meal and lower the carbs. That way you avoid that night time craving.

I used to eat at night and it completely stopped it.

Also watch fruit intake late as it has the same effect.

Filly...

After a difficult year and a move I have decided to come back on here as I find it not only helpful but inspiring.

I put on more weight while away and luckily have managed to shift that. Now decided to come back on and along with Hypno therapy really make an effort to lose the rest of my weight.

I eat a high protein diet as it suits me so we shall see. Filly....

Don't guess. You can be so wrong! Just find a book that has all the calorific values in. There is a good one called The Healthy Diet Choice and is packed full of pretty much everything you would eat.

Being 6ft tall and only 1,000 cals is not enough.
Try upping your calories so much per day, per week and see what happens. Also remember to drink plenty of water.
