hey everyone! i've been on this diet sort of thing lately. it all goes swimmingly till after 5 pm, when i start getting these super cravings. I haven't given in to them yet (it's almost two weeks now) but i do often go online and just google food images. or cooking magazines or whatnot. it's an urge that really doesn't help my cravings much, but i just feel like i need to do it. any ideas on hw to stop this? i feel as though this will be my diet downfall...

Hey! I'm starting a diet tomorrow and was wondering if it would be good if a couple of tweeters would sort of start at the same time, each with our own diet and whatnot, but we could use the forum to encourage each other, chat or get support. I'm 165 cm tall and weigh 76 kg - gahhhhh!!!

same here, i'm really good for a whil - like couple of days, and then something just clicks and i forget all about it. it starts really innocently, with some chocolate and then binging starts. but i'm working on it. i'm 75 and used to be 63 so really want to loose this weight... good luck!

Yesterday night I got in full-on binging mood. Because I plan on giving up chocolate next week, I bought a kitkat yesterday. What bad could it do, I thought. With that came a sandwich (giving up bread too). I hadn't had chocolate or bread all week. It was ok that far, but I kept on going - bought chicken katsu curry, m&s mini eggs and ate what was left of my tortellini box. The shame! But back on track today.

I just read a review on the o2 diet - sounds pretty good. Let me know how it goes. I'm on a basic low cal diet - I just try to go under 1400 as a general rule, but also totally cut out certain foods (chocolate, all kinds of soda - even diet ones, sugar, bread, and all junk food). Seems to be going ok so far. We should keep an eye on each other. Good luck:)

Hi! Great to see new ppl! It actually really worked for me so far. I have a healthier diet - also, much lower in calories. The only rule I found helped was "Post everything you eat!" You become way more self conscious. Good luck!

@lucyscales Well, apparently they're called oat groats. Oats in their natural state, really. This is what they look like.

I know... It's a pretty horrid thing. I have a really bad digestion and am constipated or bloated very often. What realy helps is including a lot of fibre - a fast, low cal way is soaking any kind of grain for abot 1 hour( I use oats - not porridge ones, but the actual grain). You can soak them in water or milk - I use oat milk (might as well go all the way). You then simmer them on the hob until soft. I add honey or agave nectar at the end, but you can top it up with fruit too. Really get things moving for me. Also digestive enzymes supplements and loads of papaya and pineapple. Hope it helps:)

@lucyscales Yup, they kinnda work for me. Not for weight loss really, as it's only one day, but it helps reduce my apetite and cravings on the rest of the days. I find it pretty hard to resist people eating around me - at school, my flatmate etc., but I just tell myslf it's only for one day so... Worth a try:)

Today is my juice detox day! 1l of fresh berry juice awaits in the fridge. I chose a low impact work day, as my calorie intake will be rather low (a little over 500 cal, way lower than my usual 1200 to 1400) - hope it'll be successful!

Don't worry. Sometimes it takes a while for the body to adjust to a new diet. I'm sure next week will be better! Don't give up!

@lucyscales I don't have a caffeine problem, but I have loads of friends who do. One of them (and that really worked for her) replaced coffee with a coffee substitute. If you buy it from a health foods store, it's really nice and healthy. The one she had was made from barley and it tasted great - almost like real coffee.

@crissyntn Yup, I'm going on holiday on March 20th. I'm gonna meet up with some friends I haven't seen in a while and really want to look slimmer. Let me know how you're progressing. Good Luck!

Well, the important thing is you really want to lose weight. My downfall was always not getting result right away. That's when I just gave up and ate something really naughty. And once I did, well... I couldn't stop. But now I think I convinced myself I need to enjoy the process of dieting as well. It's been working so far. Good luck and keep us posted (it really helps when you post stuff, actually)

@cadburyaddict11 That would be frigging amazing. Since I've started I actually haven't had any sweets except fruit and, once, a rice pudding. I am trying to go cold turkey. Also, I've replaced all sugar with agave nectar - way healthier, natural and low in calories. I might pick up on your lent idea - I'm gonna give up chocolate and any type of sodas (I used to always buy diet coke but it's super bad for you)

@cadburyaddict11 I LOOOVE fruit. And chocolate, for that matter. The thing is, whenever I eat something sweet, I tend to overdo it. Even if it's fruit. So I've been trying to avoid anything sugary altogether. At least for now.

@Dana92484 Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a try next time I get a craving.
