@dajero1 That's exactly what it is, " Shaved dried fish" Japanese called it " KATSUOBUSHI" . It gives you a great fish taste and aroma . It is looked like very very thin wood ships. @dajero1 There are at least 2 different kinds of tofu that I use! ( by the way ,I was born in Japan! )
The firm one that I like.. You can fried with vegi ...salt , peppers and soy source ..any way you like to taste! Tofu is plain and almost no taste! You can put in the soup ( diced it as cubes) .
Put in the any can soup ( clear soup is better than creamy one) for extra protein!
Other kind, Soft one... I personally can eat it with
soy source and shaved dried fish.... but this one you can be creative. Since it is so smooth and
soft, you can use as sour cream substitute, cream cheese sub,and any cream substitute to reduce the cal and fat....For example, you can use 1/2 of sour cream on recipes and substitute 1/2 of soft tofu on processer and make pasta source, you get to have the extra protein and less fat.You can use also with the dressings....
Thicker dressings ... or dips.... I am sure you can get the recipes on goggles.... It is really good
to eat . Most Japanese women don't suffer from hot flashes....(yeah right!) I have hard that it is because they eat more soy product such as Miso, soy source, tofu and others . I don't eat regularly enough to see the effects....

@dajero1 I am working on 10 lb at a time, I am 51 and like to lose 10 lb but not to gain any is hard enough.... I need to work out more.....so I was told!Good luck to me, and keep up the good work!

@Dana92484 Great running! I am doing fine just go so slow due to my age ??( I am 50). I am active and watch what I eat but sometime...It just go too slow
I lost about only 4 lb since June! I am about 5'6'' and 148lb now.. I originally wanted to lose 10lb! for healthy weight .It is taking too long and too much of effort! I guess I will try for a little longer!
I wonder if I must do twye until when??

@knitkids999, they're coming. There were a number of fundimental problems with friends, which we've been working to improve - you couldn't remove friends for instance or invite friends via email. Friends will be back in place either late this week or early next week. Sorry for the inconvenience - we had to break up the redesign launch into stages to mitigate risk.

I have a great idea on night snack! Have some frozen grapes!
It is not so easy to eat ( takes time to eat because it is too cold.....) It's sweet and less calories and it is good for you! Try it!

I have been reducing my carbs especially white kinds, I would eat multi grain bread once in a while and eat less rice and potato. I will have some whole grain something... but try not to eat too much starchy food. I notice when I eat carbs like a spaghetti dinner, it makes me sleepy! (I am not diabetic )
why???? Is it happened to anyone? or only me...
Does anyone can answer my question??

@labrujitat That's right,My BMR is about 1400 and I was eating about 1700/day, I was doing my exercise 3 times /week but I did not lose any weight for about 4 weeks! After I reduced my calories to 1200, I see some progress! BMR is the calories that your body need to maintain everyday activities.
If you eat more.... you gain! If you eat less....you lose... Do some exercise to reduce your calories!!

It has been over a week after I reduced my calorie intake to 1200/day, it finally drop 2 lb!! Who knew I only need 1400 cal/day to sustain my weight! No wonder I was not hungry! I was eating too much! Every one should find out your BMR !

A friend said that's how she finally lost weight. She said it didn't matter what she ate; as long as she kept the calories at 1200 the pounds continued to drop off.

One of way to get rid of one bad habit is to replace by other so I was told when I quited smoking about 15 years ago.
Every time you have the cravings can you do something else that make you happy? Make an earring or a bracelet there is how to place in internet,or learn something new to do. Personally I learned new skilled like juggling balls,how to knit a sock,how to tile the wall??? Anyway, it was just a thought.... Good luck! and keep working!

Riiiiiiiiight, I figured out that my BMR is about 1404cal /day
so If eat more than that I will not lose any weight....
well, I guess I am reducing my cal intake to 1200cal/day.
No wonder I don't lose weight! I guess, it is a new beginning!

I am trying to keep mine at 1200 a day. Some days I go over, some days under but I keep an excel sheet going to show my average. Right now it's 1236.

It sounds so good, I know that it must be the best way to eat! but having other member of family who will always want to have a nice meal at night.. plus family time... I will be eating both breakfast and Dinner like a king!
