Hey there! Was going to suggest you get outside, make plans, keep yourself busy & thinking about other things but I see you were the one who advised me to do that in the first place ;) But it's so true, when you are having fun with friends or have projects to look forward to, food takes up a little less space in your mind.
In more practical terms I have bought myself tons and tons of gum and diet coke, probably not the healthiest thing but it does ward off binges.
I have tried all sorts of mental tactics to stop me from bingeing: picturing overweight people, picturing skinny models, reminding myself of the dress I want to look good in, making a list of all the things to look forward to in the next few weeks... all of these things work but are not 100% fool-proof when the urge to stuff yourself gets to you.
I find the most effective of all these motivational methods has been to remind myself of all I have said "No" to in my day: for instance, if I make the effort to have a light lunch by buying sushi or a salad instead of a panini, and then someone offers me a muffin later in the day, I remind myself that I made the conscious decision and effort to have a smaller lunch, so I shouldn't waste that effort by eating the junk food. Then by the end of the day I have accumulated so many instances of saying "No" and making the effort, that it gets increasingly more of a waste to go on a binge. This might work for you? Also, if you can, go to a gym. The endorphines will give you such a kick, you will feel healthy, sexy, happy, sleep better, and again, after having made all those efforts you won't want to throw them away by bingeing! Hope this helps. x

I recently told another member about my manicure/pedicure trick. Lately, when I feel 'snacky' and 'bingy' but not really hungry, I've been doing my nails. It's a positive, self-loving thing to do, makes me feel pretty and good about myself, takes my mind off of whatever's bothering me, plus, I *can't* eat with wet nails, even if I wanted to! Other non-food activities are taking a long, relaxing bath and doing a facial. It's so important to give yourself some love!

You need to find out the cause of your Bulimia, not in all cases but a lot of the time it's a way of controlling your life (something in your life that you feel you are not happy with or in control with). I think the painting nail thing is great I use that all the time! Another thing is is start a hobby! Go to the gym, join a babington club, tennis club etc to keep yourself busy. Go shopping on late nights make yourself feel better, have candle lit baths, arrange to meet friends for an evening hotchocolate, invite friends over, go to your parents for dinner etc etc. You will get over this it's just finding your control back. xx

I just wanted to say how wonderful it was that you came on here to positively work though it! That is such a positive and self motivating thing, and you must be on the right road simply by taking the step!
