@messismile The best low cal meals are fresh home made ones with a good mixture of veg with a small amount of meat. I know the same veg everyday can be boring so mix it up and experiment with different spices and herbs. Potatoes should be classed as a main carb, so limit these to the same portion as you would having portion of cous cous, bread or pasta when combining with the veg mix and fresh meat. When aiming for a healthy low cal diet aim for your plate portions to be 2/4ths veg mix, 1/4th meat (Not too much red meat though aim for fish or chicken) and 1/4th main carb and you should fill up easily, feel fuller for longer have a good balance of nutrients and be taking in lower cals.
My simple meal I had after the gym that I believe helped me loose my weight and tone up was sticks of raw, carrot, celery, cucumber, red & yellow pepper, tomato with humous and oven cooked chicken pieces. The raw veg was quick and easy, the chicken gave me high protein and the humous was my main carb.
Have fun, experiment and fill up on veggies :D

@messismile I love recipe books and have many. The South Beach Diet books have some good recipes. Also, some old standbys that are meatless/low fat are Laurel's kitchen and anything by Molly Katzen. Epicurious.com has some great, recipes... Oh, and hungrygirl.com has some good ideas for recipes.

@messismile
Hi! You can do a lot of different meals with low carb! Just take mixed vegetables and stir frie it with f.e. scallops, shrimps, chicken breast or something with just a little bit of oil. You can add spices however you want and you dont have to be an experienced cook to do so. Yesterday I fried some scallops and added a package of mixed vegetables from Walmart and it was delicious and finished after 10 minutes. If you have any questions, just contact me :-)
